Sonja Bezuidenhout has had a passion for sewing from a very young age and her
first sewing machine was a prize won in a local competition. Born in South
Africa, she first pursued a Nursing career, but then sought a change in
direction and qualified as a Computer Programmer.
With the arrival of her
first of three girls, she decided to follow her passion and became a Dressmaker
and later established a Sewing School in the Limpopo Province of South Africa.
She was introduced to the Lutterloh Pattern Making System in 1993 and was so
impressed with the beautiful fit, cut and style of the outfits created using the
system; she began teaching her students using Lutterloh patterns.

Skirt Designing with the Lutterloh Pattern Making System
Skill Level: All
Sonja
will assist you to draft a simple plain Pencil-Skirt pattern from the Lutterloh
Pattern collection (our Master Pattern).
She will then show you how to apply
some simple design changes. First of all how to lengthen and shorten the skirt
and also changing the waistband (facings, elasticized, ribbing, contour waists &
hipsters).
Next we will change the skirt to an A-line, yoke, wrap & gore skirt.
Lastly we will focus on bias/flirty skirts and some interesting designs. Full
instructions to sew your Skirt and handy tips on a CD will also be provided.

French Knitted Bracelet
All levels – ages 12 and up
This technique is easy,
intriguing and becoming very popular.
Using a NEW modern tool with 3
interchangeable heads, we will knit a bracelet that stretches so it can fit any
wrist.
Two cords are knitted together. The beads already pre-threaded on the
finest of the 2 cords are added randomly or systematically into the knit as you
go.
Kit: $20 paid to the teacher in the classroom.
Kit includes beads, cords, French knitting tool, bead mat, instructions and
clasp.
NOTE: other equipment needed will be on loan in
class.

Once you have completed your bracelet, you will be proficient enough to
make a matching necklace and more.
