Quilt As You Go
(All levels)

Are your quilt blocks different sizes? Do your quilt tops shift? Do you have trouble finding a flat surface large enough and at a comfortable height to baste your quilt layers together? If you would like an easy way to make a large quilt that is flat, square and even, then this is the workshop for you.

Discover how to prepare and assemble quilt blocks using this “Quilt-As-You-Go” method, which will permit you to see all your seams as you sew. No guess work here! A perfect way to create large quilted projects easily! You can measure the bottom, middle and top of your quilt and they will all measure the same. There will also be a dotted ¼ inch line to cut, which will also square your quilt. Then, to finish it off, add binding and you have a perfect quilt.

Working with Combo Pack Figures

In a perfect world, all figures would be alike – in perfect form. In the real world, we come in all shapes and sizes. Learn measurement analysis to determine where and what to change on a “combo pack” figure. Then using half scale practice patterns we will alter patterns for such figure combinations as a short midriff, which requires the pattern to be shortened, but with a prominent large bust, which requires the pattern to be lengthened!

We often find opposing figure variations such as this. Learn the order to make these changes so the fit will be correct. We will use “real body” combos that we will see in class as well as “standard” combos. With 88 different identified figures variations the combos are almost endless!

Kit fee $12 paid to the teacher in the classroom.
Kit includes, binder, page protectors, practice patterns, backing papers and instruction sheets!

Bring to class:
10 x 12 (approx.) piece of foam board or ¼ inch thick cardboard
Small paper scissors

pencil
